Privacy Policy

Effective September 14, 2026.

Cactus Clips ("the app") is a private publishing tool operated by Cactus Co. ("we"). It has no public users: the only account connected to it is the operator's own. This policy explains what data the app accesses and what it does with it.

Google user data the app accesses

When the operator authorises the app with their Google account, it is granted access to that account's YouTube channel. The app uses that access only to:

• Upload videos and set their titles, descriptions, tags, visibility and thumbnails.
• Read statistics (views, likes, comment counts, visibility and processing status) for videos the app uploaded.
• Read comments on videos the app uploaded, to check viewer feedback on caption quality and content.
• Read region restrictions on videos the app uploaded, to detect copyright blocks.
• Delete videos the app itself uploaded when YouTube has blocked them or they have been replaced by a corrected upload. The app keeps a record of its own uploads and will not delete any video it did not upload.

The app does not access Gmail, contacts, Google Drive, or any other Google service, and does not access any account other than the operator's.

How the data is stored

The OAuth token and all data read from YouTube are stored only on the operator's own computer. There is no server, database, or cloud storage holding Google user data. Statistics are kept in local log files so the operator can see which clips performed well.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share Google user data with anyone. It is not used for advertising, and it is not transferred to any third party. Data obtained from Google APIs is not used to develop, improve, or train any AI or machine-learning model.

The app sends the transcript of a public Twitch stream clip to Anthropic's Claude API to draft a title. That transcript comes from a public broadcast, not from Google user data.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Cactus Clips' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Retention and deletion

Local copies of rendered videos are deleted one week after upload. Upload records and statistics are kept until the operator deletes them. Access can be revoked at any time from Google Account permissions, which stops all further access; the operator can then delete the local token and records.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
